Story
Hi everyone, thank you for visiting our team JustGiving page. We are taking on the challenge of running the London Marathon 2023, to raise money for our local Sue Ryder hospice.
We are best mates and Keighley GPs running for our local Sue Ryder hospice - Manorlands. We both trained for 6 years at Leeds Medical School, followed by 5 years across West Yorkshire training to be GPs in Keighley and the surrounding area. Manorlands is our local hospice providing a wonderful palliative care service that we rely on every single week. Every hour, day or night, Manorlands is there to support both of us as GPs, and our patients directly. They offer guidance, advice and care to help us as doctors provide end of life care and medicine in the community. This is provided alongside the supportive and compassionate care they give people in the last days of their lives within the hospice.
The idea that they do all this, as a charity, has always amazed us, and we are humbled to be able to raise a small amount of money to help keep this service running through one of the toughest times in the history of the NHS. Any donation you give will directly help our patients and their families, who are going through the hardest time of their lives.
Please donate if you can. Every donation will spur us on through the next few months of training in the dark, cold and wet weather, and push us on through London towards that finish line!!
Thank you so much in advance.
