We provide palliative and end of life care to people with a life-limiting illness

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

After loosing Dad to Cancer back in January, the 5 SONS decided that they wanted to raise money for the Rowans Hospice who looked after Dad during his final days, making him comfortable and taking care of his every need.

The Rowans Hospice is a local independent charity which provides specialist hospice care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses, and their relatives. All the care given is without charge.  So the idea to do something really daft, and the idea was to attempt the Great South Run for the Rowans.  As most of us are overweight and very unfit, what a great way to raise money and get fit, well 1 out of 2 aint bad!!

So Mark, David, Justin, Phil and Ben all decided to run for this very worth cause and the plan was hatched, to get them all off the Beer and Fags and onto the Treadmill, which is taking some longer than others.  Each of us have our own reasons for running, but we are all dedicated to raising as much money as possible, and as the date grows every closer the more money that is donated the more guilty we will feel if we DON'T RUN.

As you will probably get this a couple of times from one or all of us, and dont know who to sponsor, we have set up just 1 Donation Page for Dad and the Rowans, so when you sponsor one of us you will be sponsoring all of us, The Taffia, to run and finish.  We will Start together and Finish together, well I think Ben might just run the course twice just so he feels like he has done something!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - We raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
