Drug and alcohol addiction is a disease that destroys the lives of many. A common side affect of addiction is homelessness. A study has found that 1 in 25 people in the UK are dependant on alcohol irrespective of income, education or race. At WBS we are supporting Changes UK to facilitate a conversation among business leaders about addiction and the workplace and to raise money for CEOSleepout. No-one should be sleeping alone on the streets in freezing conditions. We are taking part in CEO Sleepout to help Changes UK in their mission to change pain through purpose, to raise awareness about addiction and to deliver peer-led recovery services to those who need it most. PS: At least two of our sleepout team are (very) nervous about the bracing cold of a December night on the streets of Birmingham.
