Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
I am so pleased to be running the London Marathon for Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice. As part of my GP training I spent several months working at the hospice and was able to see first hand the amazing work they do. The care delivered by the staff to patients, and their family and friends, is exceptional. Many patients come with a complex array of symptoms and the expertise of the staff really shines through, whilst family and friends are welcomed and supported throughout.
My mum passed away from cancer 11 years ago and she spent her final few days in a hospice. From my own personal experience I know what a difference it can make, and what a comfort it is, when your loved one is being looked after in every possible way in a warm and caring environment during the most difficult time.
The fantastic work done by Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice is only made possible by donations from the public which help to keep it running. This includes maintaining the inpatient area of 20 beds, the day centre, all the beautiful grounds and a truly incredible staff.
I would be so grateful if you could sponsor me in any way possible. It's always been a dream of mine to run the London Marathon and I am so proud to be running for such a fantastic cause.
