Dr Jamie Plumb's Everesting Challenge

Everesting · 26 July 2020
Having worked for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance since August 2019 as a PHEM Doctor, I have seen impact that the service delivers to communities across our region. The people that we help, their families and friends are the source of motivation for this challenge. Knowing that there will always be more people who need our service means that fundraising can never stop. So to help, I want to do my part in fundraising for this incredible charity.
I was inspired by 2 of my young nephews Joshua and Zach, both of whom completed amazing challenges for charity during the recent lockdown. I have not done anything for charity for a very long time and I thought it was time to change this!
Accordingly, on the 26th July, I will be completing the Everesting Challenge. The concept of Everesting is simple: Pick any hill, anywhere in the world and complete repeats of it in a single activity until you climb 8,848m – the equivalent height of Mt Everest. Simple, but brutal!

Ordinary People. Extraordinary Care. Supported by you. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance brings an advanced critical care team to people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight when they need it most. Highly skilled crews of Doctors, Paramedics and Pilots can be at the scene of an incident within minutes. It currently costs in excess of £15,000 a day to maintain our life saving service, and it is only thanks to the generosity of the communities that we serve that we are able keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
