Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
On 8th November 2019 an elite team of staff from Drayton Manor Park and Zoo are tackling the National Three Peaks to raise money for the Red Panda Network who work hard to save Red Panda's in the wild. Please help us hit our target.
This involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, consecutively - one not for the faint hearted.
The journey starts in Scotland at Ben Nevis, which at, 1,344 metres, or 4,409 ft is the tallest of the three.
From there the expedition will drive south into the Lake District where they climb Scafell Pike (978 m, 3,209 ft).
The final of the three is the Welsh mountain, Snowdon, standing at no less than 1,085 m, 3,560 ft.
The Red Panda Network
Red Panda numbers are dwindling in Nepal as poaching and illegal trade is on the rise. The Wildlife Crime Control Bureau of Nepal state that 90% of the nation’s cases related to wildlife crime goes unreported.
The Red Panda Network’s mission is to reduce the supply and demand by:
• Exposing the illegal red panda supply chain and
• Educating the public on why red pandas must remain alive and wild and reduce the illegal trade demand.
The Red Panda Network is an organisation Drayton Manor Park and Zoo is delighted to support through sponsored physical challenges as well as for running International Red Panda Day in the zoo to highlight the plight of wild Red Pandas. The zoo is home to two adorable Red Panda’s, Tika and Pema, who are not only part of a managed population but also act as ambassadors for their wild counterparts.
Please help by supporting our team in this throughout this challenge whilst they help to save the Red Pandas.
