Manchester Gay Village's Kings, Queens and Friends have a long history of fundraising for charity - charities personally close to their hearts, and charities that are important to those people that are important to them.
This Sunday 14th May 2023, Kings and Queens representing Manchester's Gay Village will be participating in the Dragon Boat Challenge. A DRAG-On Boat Challenge, if you will. And this time we are fundraising for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Our team will compete in three 200m qualifying races, and if our team's good enough, we might even make the final... But it's all about the fundraising - so if you want to encourage us in our efforts to win a rowing race, while maintaining a dignified façade in our best wind-swept, water-drenched drag, please do donate! And each and every £1 really does count, as the Peninsula Group will be matching every £1 that we raise.
The money that we raise for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital will go towards making a real difference to the lives of children receiving treatment and their families. The charity provides state-of-the-art equipment for diagnosis and treatment, supports research projects to improve their understanding of childhood illnesses and helps to create an environment that’s more friendly and welcoming to their young patients and their families.
We want to help Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital ensure that they are not only the largest children’s hospital in the country - but one of the best.
