I have applied to run the London Marathon for five successive years and finally this year I have a place and will be running for the amazing charity Whizz Kidz. Those that know me will know that I have worked with disabled and special needs children for some time now and I have seen the difference that Whizz Kidz can make. Every disabled child deserves to have their independence. So, with 70,000 children in the UK struggling to get a wheelchair that meets their needs it makes sense for me to run a few miles to help at least one of those children.

This will be my first marathon distance event and I am sure it will be a genuine challenge but...BRING IT ON! I can't say I am looking forward to the cold winter training sessions but it will all be worth it for the funds raised for Whizz Kidz and the massive sense of achievement I will no doubt feel if I can make it to The Mall and cross that finish line!
