Story
We think there's too much homelessness in London and we want to help.
We've researched different charities, spoken as a year group, and we decided that we're going to sleep out to try to raise funds for Glass Door. Glass Door runs London’s largest emergency winter night shelter network, providing a safe, warm place to sleep for up to 170 men and women a night in partnership with churches across West London. Year-round, men and women with nowhere else to turn can find drop-in centres during the day and the support they need to end their homelessness. Glass Door night shelters save lives, and the support services help change lives.
We're doing as much of the organising as we can, like writing the letters to parents, designing the posters and talking to the kitchens about getting free cardboard boxes. Our teachers are volunteering to help us on the night itself.
We would be very grateful for any donations to help us support this charity.
Thank you very much,
Year 8
