Story
The Challenge
We are getting on our bikes for three consecutive days in September, covering 412km (256 miles) and taking on 6,569m (21,551ft) of climbing along the way (that's 4.8x the height of Ben Nevis). This will all be taking place in the famously wet and hilly region - the North West.
We start off with the hardest and hilliest day in the Lake District (168km/2,724m), Day 2 loops around the Forest of Bowland in Lancashire (114km/1,860m), before we take up the final day in the saddle where we test our tired legs through the Yorkshire Dales (130km/1,985m).
There is no doubt about it, it will be truly tough, but with your support and knowing it's in aid of a fantastic cause, we will give it our best effort!
The Charities
All funds raised through pedElle will support the vital work of a range of charities, including the main beneficiary Coram. Coram champions the rights and welfare of children and believes every child should have the best chance of a fulfilling life, helping find foster and adoptive families for children in greatest need, alongside helping hundreds of thousands of vulnerable children and young people every single year by providing services to children in need developing skills, building emotional strength, upholding children's rights in the legal system. Your sponsorship will also support the charitable work of: Cyclists Fighting Cancer, who help children and young people living with cancer regain physical fitness, strength, mental wellness and confidence through sport; Multiple System Atrophy Trust, which supports people with a rare neurological condition with no current known cure or cause; and Tom's Trust, which provides support for children with brain tumours and their families.
