Brighton Marathon 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·

Whether you are running the marathon or sponsoring someone who's taking part for us, thank you. Together you are all helping us to provide essential services to local people affected by terminal illness.

Story

Early next year, we are swapping the beers for running gear, and taking on this shocker of a challenge in memory of the wonderful Kate Dowd, something she no doubt would have found hilarious.

Having fought triple negative breast cancer with admirable strength, and with the same silly sense of humour that she'd lived her life, Kate sadly lost her battle in September 2020. Thanks to the support of the Marlets, she was able to live her final days in peace, and continue cracking jokes with her family.

We all love and miss Kate dearly, and since we cannot currently put in a marathon stint at the Basketmakers Arms in her honour, we will be running our first ever *real* marathon instead.

We're looking to raise much needed funds for the brilliant Martlets to continue their invaluable work during these difficult times.
