Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
See http://www.stlukes-hospice.org/walkerswebsite/ggw.htm for full description of the walk and photos.
On Sunday 30th May for the 15th time I will yet again be taking part in the annual St Luke's Hospice long-distance sponsored walk. The first took place in 1996 walking coast to coast across England along Hadrian's Wall. Last year we walked the 70 miles of the Macmillan Way West across the Quantocks and Exmoor. This year 88 of us will be returning to Scotland, walking the Great Glen Way from Fort William to Inverness. This extends our 2000 walk, the West Highland Way, which runs from Glasgow to Fort William. The annual walk is a major fund-raising event for the hospice, and last year thanks to the generosity of people like yourselves, walkers raised over £90,000 to keep the Hospice going. Walkers commit themselves to raising a target amount of sponsorship of £500. I have generally walked the whole distance unless injured. Unfortunately I have recently had problems with my knees and find I have to limit my distances, so am not at present contemplating doing anything like the full distance this year, but I hope you will support me nevertheless, as the effort involved could be even greater!Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
