Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

On 03 October, the day after my 60th Birthday I fly off to Nepal with my youngest son, Graham, and about 18 others to trek to the base camp of Mount Everest.  We are all trying to raise money for various charities.  The trip is organised by "Charity Challenge" who organise such adventures around the world (web site www.charitychallenge.com).

I want to raise money for the charity Canterbury Oast Trust. (COT).  This charity was established in 1985 by a group of parents to provide long-term accommodation with 24 hour care in small, family style homes with private rooms together with a programme of personal development, skills training and work experience for adults with learning and physical difficulties in Kent and East Sussex.  The COT goal is to help adults with a disability lead more independent and fulfilling lives.  Please go to their web site www.c-o-t.org.uk to see more of what they do and also why not visit their show piece Rare Breeds Centre at Woodchurch near Ashford in Kent to meet the people involved and see the work they do.  I have a good friend whose son Christopher lives at the Rare Breeds Centre and my wife has a cousin Sherry who also lives there.

I know that if I ever feel out of breath trying to get to Base Camp they will be inspiring me to take the extra steps.

Please give to this worthy charity by adding a donation to this page.
