Well less than 2 months to push now. Thanks for all the support.

On 13 August 2011 we sadly lost our little girl at 24 weeks of pregnancy. She had a condition called Hydrops Fetalis, which meant that she had a large amount of fluid collected in her tummy and in her chest.  

She had 3 shunts put in to try and drain the fluid, but the operation was not successful and she died a couple of days later.

We had always referred to her throughout the pregnancy as the Blimp and have found comfort in referring to her as the Blimp ever since.

When she died, we were both devastated but her sad death has strengthened our marriage, has grown our family closer and has changed our outlook on what is important in life.

Now as a celebration of her, we have decided to try and raise a small amount each year in her memory, which we hope will benefit people in greater need than us.  We want to do this by trying to do something that will bring us closer together as a family and to refocus us to the important things in life.

As a result this year, Dougie is going to give up drinking alcohol from Mon 13 Aug 2012 until 13 Aug 2013. For those of you who know him, this will be quite a remarkable feat if he achieves it as we would politely say that he likes his beer...
