We fund research of secondary breast cancer to improve patients' quality of life

Story

From 28 February - 5 March 2019, I will be pushing myself by trekking across the Arctic with Breaking Strain Events to raise money for Make 2nds Count.  The trek begins by flying to Rovaniemi in Finland before the next three days are spend trekking 65km, deep into the Arctic Circle, facing temperatures as low as -30C!

See www.breakingstrain.co.uk/arctic-trek for more information about what will be an extremely challenging but no doubt incredible experience!

Make 2nds Count was set up by my colleague's stepdaughter, Lisa Fleming, after she was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in May 2017.  They raise funds which are donated solely into the research of secondary breast cancer in an attempt to find a cure to this currently incurable disease.

Secondary breast cancer is breast cancer which has spread from the breast to other parts of the body. Although secondary breast cancer can be treated, there is no cure. Unlike those living with primary breast cancer, there is no end of treatment, there is no remission. It’s estimated that 35,000 people are currently living with secondary breast cancer in the UK yet only 7% of the National funding for cancer goes towards this incurable disease. Make 2nds Count aim to address this imbalance. Please give generously!
