Over 70 colleagues from the Cobham and Dartford offices of Willmott Dixon Construction will be taking part in the Cobham Challenge 2015 – Snowdon Spectacular. It will take place between 26-28 June 2015. We would welcome your support.
This year we are again proud to be supporting Chestnut Treehouse Hospice (CTH) with the goal to raise £60,000, surpassing last year’s excellent work and again enough to pay for the charity for a week and beyond.
Chestnut Tree House is the only children's hospice in East and West Sussex and cares for over 280 children and young adults from 0-25 years of age with progressive life-limiting conditions from Sussex and South East Hampshire. There are potentially 1,000 families with life-limited children in Sussex. Chestnut Tree House offers support for the whole family including psychological and bereavement support, end of life and short break care and sibling support.
The hospice costs nearly £3 million per year to run. Families are never charged for their care and less than 8p in every pound is funded by the government, so we rely heavily on the generosity, help and support of the people of Sussex.
The challenge will be a two day event involving 3 physically demanding activities to choose from on each day in and around the Snowdonia National Park. The three activities will be road cycling, mountain biking, or hiking. Day 1 will be starting and finishing in Llanwrst, day 2 in Llanberis and will feature the following:
Hiking – Day 1: a scenic, but tough 13 mile hike through Snowdonia National Park east of Snowdon.
Day 2: A challenging 18 mile hike taking on the Snowdon summit and looping around the lake of Llyn Peris before returning to Llanberis.
