Walking the Wye Valley Action Challenge

Wye Valley Challenge 2018 · 12 August 2018 ·
A very good friend of mine recently discovered that he was suffering from Prostate Cancer and for me and I'm sure like many others who have been close to this illness, it is such an unfair situation. Derek is a very kind and giving person; throughout our friendship he has given time and resource to all those around him, helping them to enjoy their lives and although a quiet man, he has always given thought and good advice when required.
Like most men, I was aware of Prostate Cancer, but I hadn't given any thought to checking it out. (I have now and urge all men to do so) It is such an unforgiving illness, yet if caught early enough it can be defeated.
Prostate cancer has now overtaken breast cancer to become the third biggest cancer killer in the UK ......... taking one man every 45 minutes.
Therefore, I'm joining the MARCH FOR MEN campaign with my personal challenge to raise as much as I can, (with a minimum of £500) to help Prostate Cancer UK raise the funds needed to create better testing and treatments that will halve prostate cancer deaths by 2026.
I'm trusting that you can support me with this challenge by donating as much as you can reasonably afford. The donations made will give me good heart as I take on the 100km Action Challenge walk of the Wye Valley over the weekend of 11th and 12th August 2018. This challenge will be tough I'm sure, but nothing like the challenge that men, like my good friend Derek, take on every day.
I thank you in advance for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page to pledge your donation. Thank you very much, it will be appreciated big time.
