Story
Making Me is a not-for-profit Bedford based charity which teaches children how to thrive by focusing on early intervention strategies and equipping schools with the resources to develop emotional literacy and resilience skills for pupils from Nursery to Year 6. With a unique focus on resourcing children with the knowledge and skills to stay mentally well rather than responding to mental ill-health, our approach is pro-active rather than re-active.
Over eight days in September, John, Colin and Richard will be cycling around the south-west coast from Minehead in Somerset, via Lands End, to Poole in Dorset – averaging 65-70 miles and 5500ft of climbing per day. Immediately afterwards, on Sunday 18 September and with a larger group of local friends, they will be in the saddle again for a 125-mile ‘Tour of Bedfordshire’ ride that will take them around the perimeter minor roads of the County. I will join the team of ten cyclists for this 125 mile ride.
As a small, relatively young charity, Making Me's running costs and additional expenses can be kept to a minimum, meaning that all funds raised will go directly towards enabling them to provide their workshops and resources to more schools in and around the County.
