Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my first JustGiving page.

I've decided to run the Balmoral 10km this year in memory of my best friend from primary school's mother, Cathy, who sadly passed away in November last year from lung cancer.  Cathy never smoked a cigarette in her life!

I am raising money for Friends of Roxburghe where Cathy passed away.  Roxburghe House has been purpose built to meet the needs of patients requiring Specialist Palliative Care.  Roxburghe House aims to achieve the best possible quality of life for patients and their families by:

controlling pain and other distressing symptoms,

helping patients and families cope with the emotional upset and practical problems of the situation;

helping people to live as actively as possible despite their illness;

supporting families and friends in their bereavement.

Lots of family members and friends have all been inspired to take part and run the 2.5km, 5km and 10km Balmoral events for such a worthy cause.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now!  Your support on the day would also be greatly appreciated!!

Love Dawn
