Story
First, a huge thanks for taking the time to have a look at what we are doing.
Running the length of the Dorset coastline in three days is no easy task but it is worth every blister, every ache and every drop of sweat as in doing this we are getting the word out about the dangers of skin cancer whilst raising as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK, a vital charity in helping us understand a horrible disease.
Every penny counts as does every bit of knowledge when it comes to cancer, so please do take five minutes to look at the following links to learn more about the danger of skin cancer and the urgency in detecting it early. If diagnosed early there is a 97% survival chance, however, in a matter of months once the cancer has spread, survival rates drop to less than 10%.
The message here is get it seen as soon as possible.
THE RUN:
Three brothers; Harry and Tom Best and brother-in-law Simon Mitchell, take on the gruelling challenge of the notoriously hilly Dorset coast line inlcuding running up Golden Cap, the highets cliff on the south coast of England.
- Totalling 100 miles the trio will take to the coastal path in Bournemouth on the bank holiday weekend of the 25th August and enjoy a 33 mile run to Lulworth Cove.
- On the second day the team will continue their run along the picturesque path from Lulworth Cove to Abbotsbury.
- The final day from Abbotsbury to Lyme Regis completes the 100 mile length of the Dorset coast and will be a welcome end no doubt.
More details, including times and locations of the merry trio as they bound through the Dorset countryside, will follow for those who wish to join in at any stage. Your support will be more than welcome.
