Story
The Round Britain Reliability Run 2018 is an event held bi annually covering some 2500 miles over a weekend commencing on the Friday evening just north of London with breakfast on the Saturday in John O Groats, Sundays breakfast at Lands End and then back to the starting point by the Sunday evening…. hopefully!!
Having previously completed the event in 2014 we were all geared up to tackle the event in 2016. However during the final weeks of preparation my co entrant was unfortunately diagnosed with Epilepsy, and driving was impossible. This meant with only one driver we unfortunately had to withdraw from the event.
This year were back! The chosen vehicle is a 1979 Triumph Dolomite 1500. However, and here is the challenge. This vehicle has not been on the road since 1997 after a mechanical failure. It has since rested in a local barn, only to be resurrected earlier this year and after a little fettling passed its MOT!!
Final preparations are now well under way, with the engine
being given a well deserved overhaul .
So we made to the start!
