Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the 2020 London marathon in memory of my sister Kathleen who died from meningococcal septicaemia in 2000. It was a very sudden tragedy as she passed away within 16 hrs of being diagnosed. She was only 36 years old and left a 6 year old son, Patrick and husband, Tim behind. The whole family was devastated by her sudden loss. She left a massive hole in our lives and I still miss her very much every day.

I'm running to help raise valuable funds so the Meningitis Research Foundation can continue to do their good work in spreading awareness of the symptoms so that early detection will help more people survive this terrible illness.

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
