Story
SAY has been such a large part of our lives for the past four years. I only wish I had found them sooner, their need for exposure is vital. Before SAY Ricardo had acceptance and love from his family, but not others. Kids can be cruel to those that are different. Ricardo never met someone who stutters, he thought he was the only one. SAY showed him there are others like him out there and there are amazing people who have succeeded in so many different ways. SAY gave him the confidence to self advocate, to try new things, without SAY Ricardo would not have enjoyed his High School years as much as he did, because of their encouragement Ricardo auditioned and participated in three musicals, and made friends with some spectacular kids. His story is so much more than this brief synopsis, and I would love to share more at another time. If you have questions, please reach out to me. If you have a child that stutters, please reach out to me, I want the stutters of the world to know they are not alone.
What I would appreciate is any help you can give to this wonderful organization, they bring kids that stutter together for two weeks of summer camp (no child is every denied this opportunity due to financial issues). They have other programs throughout the year to support these kids so they do not feel alone when camp is over.
Anything you can give helps, whether that is monetary or sharing our message, you are appreciated, and above all you are heard!
Thank you for your support!
