Story

3 Best Friends and a Sister.. Donna, Gayle, Jane and Lynsey. We are doing 100km each to raise funds for Crumlins children's hospital.. Please read our stories and find out why this is so important for the four of us

Donna's story.. So on the 23rd of November myself (Gayle) and Jane got a text from our friend Donna saying that she had received news that no parent ever wants to hear, her 15 year old son had cancer. A mixed germ cell non seminoma tumour in his testicle. He needed chemo to shrink the tumour so they could remove it.. A lot of chemo sessions and a lot of tough days and nights away from home they have finally got the date for surgery.. Please god when the surgery is over Declan will be on the road to recovery and back doing the things he loves to do

Lynseys Story.. lynsey went for her 5 month ante natal scan and was told her baby (Adam) had an issue with one of his kidneys. Fast forward 4 weeks later and Lynsey went into labour at 28 weeks.. Adam was 3 months premature and was to small and weak to travel to crumlin to see a specialist about the kidney. He was put on medication to stop infections. At six months old he went to Crumlin for an open pyeloplasty surgery and a ureteric stent was placed inside to help with the blockage in his kidney. Since then hes had numerous visits to Crumlin for neclear medicine renal scans and ultrasounds. He is nearly 7 now and still visits Crumlin for appointments but he is a strong little kid and doesn't let anything stop him
