Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
When Andy was diagnosed with stage 4 Prostrate Cancer our world fell apart as it came as such a shock. By the grace of God the diagnosis saved his life after receiving treatment during the Covid pandemic. He has been resilient and determined to live life to the full and has not let this get him down. In January Andy announced that he wanted to cycle 100 miles this year which is a massive undertaking, even for the youngest and fittest. His aim is to show others who have had ill health to always give of your best and anything is possible
I have lived with Type 1 diabetes for over 30 years and am determined to fight this disease which is with me 24 hours a day . 7 days a week, with no time off for good behaviour
My new insulin pump and Glucose Monitor allow me to know when my blood sugar is high or low by an alarm that sounds and warms me of potential dangers. Being as ( or more !) determined as my husband we are doing this 100 mile challenge together for St Teresa's Hospice with a brilliant and organised team of people sponsored by Thomas Watson Auctioneers and Valuers.
This year Andy is 68 and I will be 60 years old. We have been blest with our health, family and friend's and now it is our time to help those who can not help themselves and appreciate your kindness and support in our new adventure.
We will keep you posted of our progress along the way
