My beautiful niece Eve passed away on 22nd November 2013 after a 5 year battle with Neuroblastoma Cancer. Eve was the most amazingly brave, beautiful, intelligent, funny little girl and is missed so much by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

It goes without saying that throughout those 5 years Eve and her Mum Rachael had to deal with some horrendously tough times. The charity When you Wish Upon a Star gave Eve and Rach (and sometimes Damian and even me and Jake!) an escape from these hard times.

They granted Eve magical wishes and took her to some incredible places. 

Eve, Rach and Damian watched her favourite band, JLS from a private box and even got to meet the band!

Eve and Rach were flown to Lapland for a magical trip to meet the real Father Christmas!

Eve watched the live auditions for Britains Got Talent and met all the judges (twice!)

Just last year Eve, Rach, Damian, myself and Jake had a week at Centre Parcs thanks to When You Wish Upon a Star. We were one of around 30 families and I cannot begin to explain how fantastic a holiday it was. The When You Wish Upon a Star team did not stop the whole week and nothing was too much trouble. Despite not feeling too well, Eve said she had an amazing time and that it was the best holiday ever.

There was nothing better than seeing Eve happy and smiling and throughout her illness When You Wish Upon a Star certainly made sure of this!

They are an incredible charity who grant magical wishes to seriously ill children and give the children and their families an escape from the harsh reality of their illnesses.
