Dear friends,

On 9th October i will set off as the doctor for a Kilimanjaro trip with Charity Challenge. At 5,895m, Mt. Kilimanjaro is the worlds highest freestanding mountain! I will be attempting to reach the summit with 15 other members and as the medic i will be aiming for everyone to reach the summit happily and healthily!

I am raising money for the Prostate Cancer Charity and for my Dad. Over the last few years he has bravely had many operations. quietly gone to daily radiotherapy sessions and suffered side effects from hormone treatment-this is the least i can do to support him.

He has benefited greatly from advances in cancer research and i feel passionate about supporting this charity which funds research, support and information for those with prostate cancer. Some key facts...

1. Prostate cancer research has been historically underfunded

2. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men

3. 37,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year

4. One man dies of prostate cancer every hour
