Story

So the training starts again and here we are, only this time it’s Mum’s Favourite Marathon! Ever since I can remember she’s watched it and she LOVED the music, The Trap  I never ever thought I’d be running these sort of distances but to actually run in the 49th London Marathon and raise money for the amazing people who helped us all so much,, well I still can’t get my head round it!

Mum was diagnosed in May 2014, and it came out of nowhere  she had lung cancer which had spread and she had just a few short months left. Those months were so hard, she had lost her mobility and she found that almost impossible to bear. St Catherines admitted her after she had spent weeks in hospital and the doctor said she had just a couple of weeks. But under their care she blossomed and rallied and made plans to come home with her family. This she did and she had many more weeks comfortable in her own home with all her own things around her. When she did leave us, we were all with her and she was happy and peaceful. St Catherine’s care didn’t stop there, they continued to help and support us through every step and offered counselling.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am fundraising for St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley; a local charity with big ambition. St Catherine’s vision is for a world where everyone facing death and bereavement can do so informed, supported and pain free. Their team of experts are there for people in West Sussex and East Surrey when they need support the most, and they rely on donations to be able to offer their pioneering care. Please donate today and help St Catherine’s be there for people when life comes full circle.
