Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Myself and my wonderful sister in-law are taking part in the St Lukes Mid night walk, in memory of my dad. Sadly my dad passed away in February this year, leaving myself, my 2 brothers and sister behind. My dad was diagnosed with cancer in August 2012 and sadly lost his battle 6 short months later. When we were told I was 20 weeks pregnant and I hoped and prayed that dad would still be with us when the baby came, thankfully Maisie was born on the 15th of January and I was able to call dad from the recovery room to tell him the news. Things were looking up as the cancer had shrunk by 50% thanks to the chemo. As I'd had a c section I was unable to drive and the roads were really bad due to the snow this year so we were unable to go to visit dad to show off Maisie, but as things had slowed down we weren't worried. Then when Maisie was 12 days old I received a call from my sister telling me that dad was really poorly and had been rushed to hospital, I was so frustrated as I couldn't get to him. Then 2 days later I got the call I'd been dreading, dad had taken a turn for the worse, I took a chance to drive that night as it might be the last time I would get to see him. Nothing would have prepared me for that night. His condition got worse and sadly when Maisie was less than a month old my dad passed away without even getting to have a cuddle. My dad was the most hard working man I know and its so sad that he is not with us and gets to see has grandchild grow up, he leaves behind Mollie, Elizabeth, Emily, Jacob, Anthony, Maisie and our new addition Marcus who is only a couple of weeks old. He has of course sent us a little gift from heaven, my sister is expecting and her little bundle is due around my dads birthday, it's his sign that our lives will go on without him, no matter how much we miss him, he will always be with us.
