Donna's 100 mile walk for Bethany's Wish

My 100 mile walk for Bethany's Wish 🦋 · 1 January 2021
Hello all, I've decided to set myself a challenge this month to walk a 100 miles for a charity very close to my heart Bethany's Wish, Wilms Tumour research fund.
When I was 3 years old I was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumour after the removal of my left Kidney, 2 courses of chemotherapy and radiotherapy I was very fortunate and given the all clear.
Due to the treatment I received I'm now deemed to have a non fully functioning spleen so I was put into the at risk group in regards to covid -19 and in March I was asked to shelid for 12 weeks. By the end of the 12 weeks my mental health had taken a turn for the worse and I became very low in mood. I was then allowed back to work and things picked up.. Then came the the next lockdown and at the start of November I was furloughed from work to keep me safe I returned to work mid December and now with the new tier 4 lockdown I've been furloughed again. So I decided to turn a negative into a positive and do something productive with my time off... Thats where my self challenge comes into it.. To walk 100 miles in 31 days... I will be doing this both by going out for countryside walks and also using a treadmill.
Over the years of me being in and out of hospital myself and my family got to see how the money raised for different charities goes on to help these families in hospital. I would really like to help raise money for this amazing charity and help fund the research to end this awful disease 🦋
