Story
Thanks for visiting my page.
I'm dusting off my running kit and getting my trainers ready to pound the streets of Portsmouth, for the Great South Run on Sunday 17th October.
I am dedicating the run to my wonderful parents and running in their memory. As some of you know, both my Mum and Dad suffered with heart related and circulatory conditions, with Mum passing away this year unexpectedly, so I'm excited to raise money for a fabulous charity; the British Heart Foundation.
The BHF funds incredible research and innovation to find ways to prevent, and one day hopefully cure, conditions such as heart disease, stroke and vascular dementia... keeping healthy hearts pumping for our friends and family.
Running has been just the medicine this year with lockdown and the grief of losing Mum; it helped keep my heart and mind healthy. So what better way to raise money than in the memory of two fabulous people, whilst combining something I (strangely) enjoy, alongside raising some funds for a great charity?! A little secret... I am definitely not a 'natural runner' and I possibly sound like Darth Vader as I'm passing people but I'm also pretty stubborn, so will keep going! :)
I’d be grateful for any donations and genuinely appreciate your support.
Thanks so much.
