I want to raise as much money as I can for the Rear into Gear appeal by taking part in the Grimsby 10k on the 22nd of July 2018 and the Great North Run (half marathon) on the 9th September 2018 - I will be doing the GNR with my Mum
After my recent surgery at Grimsby Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in November 2017. I now PROUDLY wear a Colostomy bag (my very own little Betty) and I would like to give something back in return to help others that may be in my situation one day or a sufferer of Bowel Cancer or any type of IBD.
I couldn't have wished for better care, the staff nurses on ward B3, my stoma nurses and Mr.Sasapu himself have been amazing to me and they still are there to support me if I need it. I really appreciate all they have done for me and hopefully very soon I will appear on ward B3 as a volunteer on weekends to help out as and where I can. Thanks to those mentioned above I now have my life back and I will forever be grateful for that.
My Nana had bowel cancer twice and she beat it but others sadly don't make it. I made friends with some lovely people from the bay I was in during my stay in hospital and some are being treated for bowel cancer so just being able to help even in the tiniest way possible means alot to me.
Last year I raised £292 for two different charities so this year I have chosen to raise money for a charity that has helped myself.
My mum Tracy Burns and myself are running the GNR on the 9th of September 2018 and is using my justgiving page to help me get to or beyond my target.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
