Story

I have decided to do the 2022
Toronto Walk to End PKD
on Sept. 25th this year with my family
in celebration of my 65th birthday (Sept. 11).

Not sure if many of you know this but this disease has affected 5 of my immediate family members over 3 generations. My brother had a transplant 12 years ago and I am currently on a transplant list.  Unfortunately, my husband was not a viable donor and I will have to wait for another donor.  I am currently @ Stage 5 with an eGFR of 13% so I am trying to maintain my kidney function so that I don't have to go on dialysis.

Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a chronic, genetic disease causing uncontrolled growth of fluid-filled cysts in the kidneys, often leading to kidney failure. With 66,000 Canadians and millions worldwide living with PKD today, chances are high that you know someone with the disease.

If you are able to sponsor me for this walk with donations going to the
PKD Foundation of CANADA, it would be much appreciated.

You can help me make an incredible impact in raising funds and your efforts will help strengthen the direct funding of the PKD Foundation of Canada's mission to promote programs of research, advocacy, education, support and awareness in order to discover treatments and cure for PKD and improve the lives of all it affects!

Thanks in advance.
