Story

This sweet Merrythought Eeyore was hand-made around 1967 and coincided with the release of Walt Disney's "Winnie the Pooh" film. He has kindly been donated by Fiona Peters who would like us to find a new home for him and to raise much needed funds for our donkeys and mules.

We are therefore offering supporters an opportunity to own this extremely rare and vintage Eeyore who has been loved and cherished for over 40 years.

Measuring approximately 12” (30.5cm) from nose to tail this little Eeyore is hand-made from mohair. His coat and long ears are a little patchy in places, but adds charm to his lovable character. He still retains the original Merrythought label and as mentioned in Winnie the Pooh's story, Eeyore’s tail can be unclipped.

Given his age, Eeyore is in extremely good condition and has been well cared for over the years.

Please note this is a collector's item and not a toy.

Merrythought is a British toy manufacturing company established in 1930 and specialises in hand-made soft toys. It is the last remaining British teddy bear factory to still make its products in Britain.

We would like to thank Merrythought for giving us permission to publish the front cover of their 1966 catalogue in which Eeyore appeared for the first time for sale.

If you would like a chance to own Fiona’s Merrythought Eeyore all we ask is that you kindly make a donation.

Don't forget to tick the box to stay informed when making an online donation so that we can contact you if you are the lucky winner.

We will be drawing the lucky winner's name on Thursday 25th December 2014 at 2.30pm.  Happy Christmas!
