Story

All the money raised for this event will be split equally between both RAFA and the Benevolent Fund.

Hercules Charity Pull.

47 Sqn have organised this Herculean event; pitting RAF Brize Norton personnel against each other and the clock, as they attempt to pull a C130J ‘Hercules’ 100 metres.

With the C130J due to retire in 2023, this charity event aims to raise money and awareness for RAF Benevolent Fund and Royal Air Force Association whilst celebrating the aircraft’s outstanding 57 years of RAF service.

On 5 April 2022 – between 1300-1700hrs,
RAF Brize Norton Teams will attempt to pull the 47’000 KGS aircraft using nothing more than a rope and determination, in this time trial event which will be held on ECHO dispersal (C17 bays).

The Hercules Charity Pull where you are welcome come along to support and follow your chosen Team. All proceeds and donations from the event will go to our chosen charities.

RAFA:

For over 90 years the RAF Association have championed the belief that no member of the RAF community should be left without the help they need. Funds raised from the Hercules Plane Pull event at RAF Brize Norton will go to support our many welfare projects.

Benevolent Fund:

We provide lifelong support to serving and ex-serving RAF personnel and their families. We'll consider any request for assistance, however big or small, providing a tailor-made approach to each individual situation. From mobility aids and confidential counselling to financial grants, we offer a range of support tailored to the individual's needs.
