Story
22nd May: We successfully completed the challenge on Tuesday, with the ascent of Ben Nevis via the Carn Dearg arete. In all, we climbed the three highest Munros, as proposed, on three consecutive days, whilst adding two further Munros - Cairngorm (number 6) and Carn Mor Dearg (number 9) - in the process. A huge thanks to all who have either paid or committed to pay a donation to CLAN.
12th May: Catriona and I are attempting to raise money for charity by climbing, on three consecutive days, the three highest mountains in Scotland - Ben Nevis, Ben Macdui and Braeriach. In all, this will entail an ascent of close to 4,000 metres from starting point and a total distance covered of around 70 kilometres. Our intention is to undertake this challenge on May 18th, 19th and 20th, weather permitting.
We aim to raise money for a charity called CLAN - Cancer Link Aberdeen & North - which provides support, advice and counselling to people affected by cancer in the North of Scotland. Please visit www.clanhouse.org for further details. CLAN has recently launched a programme to raise £3 million for a new cancer support centre and it is toward this, in a very small way, that we hope to make some contribution.
Please sponsor us either through this site or by pledging to one or other of us directly. Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated.
Donating through this site is simple and tax efficient: Cancer Link Aberdeen & North will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
