The Charity

My mum, Margaret, was sadly diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer last year. After treatment which was only partially successful she now needs constant care. On a number of occasions she has received the most amazing respite care at St Mary's Hospice in Ulverston, Cumbria where she is at present.

St. Mary's is a place where the staff have time for the patients and nothing is too much trouble. The hospice was recently flooded and funding is desperately needed to ensure they can to continue to provide the highest level of care. If you could sponsor me in my first Triathlon it would be much appreciated..

 

The Triathlon

My body has not responded as well as I had hoped, but I have trained pretty hard for 6 months. Although it is not an Iron Man Triathlon I still expect to spend about 1 hour 30 mns covering a sprint distance  (426 m swim, 21 km bike, 5 km run).  The event takes place early morning on Easter Monday (5th April) starting at Hampton Open Air Pool and finishing in Bushy Park.
