Story

I am taking part in the Length or Breadth of Ireland Cycle Challenge to help raise vital funds to support the work of Special Olympics Ireland and its athletes! With our help, almost 8,000 women, men and children with an intellectual disability across the island of Ireland will stay connected, fit and healthy through virtual competitions, challenges and activities. Supporting the Length or Breadth of Ireland Challenge will help Special Olympics Ireland to continue to provide meaningful and worthwhile virtual programmes to their athletes and help plan for the reintroduction of contact training and competition safely when guidelines allow. Special Olympics athletes will meet their friends again. They will train and compete again. They will show the world what they can do again!

About the charity

Special Olympics is a sport organisation for people with an intellectual disability, currently supporting nearly 8,000 athletes across Ireland, who are training for much more than the physical benefits that come from sport, but the emotional and social development that come from being part of S.O.I.
