Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I remember when I was about 8 years old watching athletics on TV with my Aunt who was an avid athletic and sport fan, and also seeing the athletes and thinking they must be a 'special' type of human. I also remember thinking I would love to do that. This was I think one of my early cases of not believing in my dreams, or not dreaming big enough. A few years later I saw triathletes doing their 3 disciplines and literally couldn't believe my eyes. Instantly thinking this wasn't something I could do. Being a heavier kid I quickly 'rubbished' that dream believing that was impossible for me. It's taken me just shy of 30 years to realise that no dream is too big, impossibilities lives only in my head and that I can do anything I put my mind to. I once believed I couldn't be a Chef, despite my passion for cooking and early signs of talent. I am currently enjoying a role as an Executive Chef managing 2 South London Restaurants.
In approx 10 weeks on Saturday 4th August I will be competing in London Triathlon doing the super sprint distance. I am also raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
I have been training all year, and as a pledge to my dedication I have gone completely teetotal and following a (mainly) plant based diet. I've just recently returned from my mates 30th in Ibiza and proudly didn't touch a drop.
My bosses at #thejamtree have agreed to make a generous donation and I am asking my friends, family, colleagues, business associates, social media contacts, and anyone else to make a donation via my just giving page. (See link below). You would not just be supporting the kids at Great Ormond street hospital, but you would also be cheering on that 8 year old boy inside me who once had a dream that he thought was too big!
Thank you.
