We provide specialist care and support to people with life-shortening illnesses.

Story

John Nickson worked tirelessly for the Lostock Hall Hospice for 20 years, after joining in 1990 as the charity's first fundraiser. He was cared for at St Catherine's in September last year, after being diagnosed with a cancer affecting the bone marrow and sadly died on the 23rd.

John was a funny, generous man. He was a member of the Hall Players drama group, a singer with a band and also enjoyed cycling in his spare time. He will be remembered by friends from the Hall Players, who enjoyed their time with him on stage as a fellow thespian and offstage as a good friend.  He is sadly missed.   11 of our members will take on the 60 mile Manchester bike ride with St Catherine's on July 8th.
