Story

As a registered charity with no external funding they rely on your financial support, which is crucial to the work they do in safeguarding the collection and expanding it to tell more stories.

I have decided to challenge myself physically and mentally by paddling roughly 130 miles in as short a time as possible, travelling from Windsor to Oxford and back again whilst staying on the board to conduct all admin including sleeping and eating (exception being when crossing a lock). Whilst planning this I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to maybe raise some funds for a good cause.

"The image of a Guardsman in his scarlet tunic and his famous bearskin cap is truly iconic and epitomises quality -both on the drill square and on the battlefield. Their proud history stretches back over 370 years. They are the scarlet thread that runs through the tapestry of great British history. Please help us tell their story. Please help us remember these soldiers that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Thank you"

The Guards Museum has been working with friends in Flanders to build a Memorial Garden here at the museum. To form the garden we are bringing soil from the 70 battlefields in Flanders where soldiers of seven Guards regiments fought and died. The project is costing £700,000. Please help if you can.
