Story
The Alzheimer’s Society (2014) reports there are over 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK today. Of these, approximately, 42,000 are people with young onset dementia, which affects people under the age of 65. As a person’s age increases, so does the risk of them developing dementia. It is estimated that the number of people living with dementia in the UK by 2025 will rise to over one million.
I have chosen to support this charity after having family members go though this and seeing the effect it has on all the family not just the person effected. It is very close to home and any donations will be greatly appreciated
Supported by Chesterfield Borough Council, the Redbrik Foundation Chesterfield 10k will be the first running event of its distance to take place in the centre of town. I have chosen to sign up to this event to raise money for Dementia UK. Every £1 raised will make a huge difference.
