I am Abigail Dolly, I am 6 years old and I live in Barnsley. I wanted to give something back to Dr Kerrin and the amazing team at Barnsley Hospital, who have looked after me nearly my whole life for a range of medical conditions - most of which I have overcome with their support. I asked what they would like and they said some toys for Children’s Outpatients’ waiting room. These toys will include a Fairytale Palace, cars and a pirate ship.

I think this is a fantastic idea for the boys and girls who like me and my younger brother visit the department, as it can be a bit boring sometimes in the waiting room, and also if you are feeling nervous it is good to be distracted. 

So I’m going to do a triathlon which will see me swim a minimum of 15 lengths at Everlast Gym, ride my bike for 10 kilometres round Rother Valley Country Park, and I’ll run from my home in Dodworth to Barnsley Hospital. I’ll start with the swim on Friday 8th July 2022 and finish with the run on Sunday 10th July 2022. I’m looking forward to the challenge, as it’s really important I stay fit and active to help with a health condition I have.
