My name is Lily-Ann and I am 2 years old. I have Rett Syndrome. I started changing from a normal baby to a special baby when I was only about 6 months old. It took me a while to get used to my hands not working properly, and mummy and daddy not being able to hear me but I am a very happy girl! I can’t walk or tell my hands what to do, but I can kick daddy when he asks me to stop grinding my teeth. I do not talk but I try to sing in my own special way, and I love to giggle. Lots of people tell me that I am beautiful and very happy.
I love going for long walks with Mummy, Daddy and my little brother Lewis. We walk lots and lots, so Mummy and Daddy thought it would be a good idea to walk for a whole day so that we can get lots of money. Daddy says that the money will help other mummies and daddies with special children like me.
On September 17th 2011 my Mummy, Daddy and Uncle Craig will be walking for a whole 24hours to raise money for Rett UK. They are hoping to walk all the way from London to Dover!
Daddy says that the money people give will go to the special researchers so that they can keep trying to find a way for Me and all of the other Special Girls to be like other children. i like this idea so please give lots of pennies.
Well people, it looks like we are going to have to change our route slightly...the only route we can get from google maps is down the A2...not one i fancy walking! we will ensure that the new route still covers 24hours though
