Story

Join the Wake Fundraising Group 4 / 4 / 48 Challenge and help us to get closer to a cure.

As most of you may know I have recently completed 26 miles of running in May for Brain tumour research in honour of my Dad who we lost early this year. My dad loved life,he would do absolutely anything and he loved to run. Me and him would run together sometimes but if not I’d always tell him how my runs went and he would always be so amazed at my time even if I thought it wasn’t that good. He always encouraged me and made me feel like I was as good as him. My enjoyment for running and pushing myself even when it’s hard has all been because of my Dad. If it weren’t for him I probably wouldn’t have continued running, but now I know I can never stop.

So next Wednesday I am taking part in another challenge for the brain tumour research with my friend Martin. We are planning on running at various different places in some random locations but starting and finishing in Hastings where my Dad and myself have lived all our life. This is a challenge that is so much harder both physically and mentally than anything I have ever done before. It is called the 4/4/48 challenge. Basically I am running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. So in two days I would have run 48 miles, which as you can imagine isn’t easy and a lot of overuse of my muscles. I have never done something as hard as this but I know that if my dad were here he would’ve done it with me and pushed me through. I am doing this for him,I know that wherever he is,he is infact doing it with me in spirit. It will be a total of 12 runs starting at 6:00pm on 16th June and my last run being at 14:00 on Friday 18th. I will be running during the night and early hours of the morning so my body really is going to feel it. Lack of sleep will make this challenge extremely hard.

I am pushing myself and aiming to keep raising as much money as I can for brain tumour research. I can’t talk enough about how important this is to me and to every person in this world who is suffering from a brain tumour or has a family member who is. Thank you all in advance who donate or support me on my social medias. I really want to make a positive change in this world, but most importantly to always make my Dad proud💙💙💙

LETS BEAT CANCER TOGETHER.
