Story

We were very sad to hear the news about Doctor K (aka Geoff), who passed away last weekend after a nine-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a kind and thoughtful person, who shared many aspects of his life with our community through his blogs stretching back as far as 2006. He was a passionate and principled politician, a huge fan of music, an 87-strong blood donor, a Bolton fan, and a good friend to many. And of course, like all of us, he loved running. It's so sad to see such a lovely man gone too soon :-( If you'd like to make a donation, please go ahead.

And if you're anywhere near Bolton parkrun on September 30th, please go along and join Bigleggy and friends who are doing a run for him.

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.
