Dementia is known at home as ‘El Bicho’. (From the Spanish– a nasty piece of work) Dementia is a one way journey only. Dementia is the umbrella term used to describe a group of symptoms that become apparent when brain cells become damaged.

Dementia is not a natural part of ageing. It is a disease that causes damage and degeneration in the brain. It is like a parasite, slowly eating the life out of the patients whilst they are still alive. It can affect anybody of any age.

On 8th August, we are taking part in the “Trek26 Lake District 2021 - 26 Miles” to raise funds to support the Alzheimer’s Society to bring about more awareness and support in the fight against Dementia. More research is needed in the quest for a cure to stop this evil disease destroying more lives.
