Ben is an independent charity and dedicated partner to the automotive industry, providing support for life for automotive people and their family dependents. Ben is focused on delivering care and support to enable total health & wellbeing through working and later life. Ben provides a free, confidential helpline and support service, working with individuals to help them navigate through the toughest of challenges, empowering them to make positive, lasting change. Ben also operates continuing care and support for those in later life, which isn't dependent on an automotive industry connection, via its care centres as well as independent living for over 65s at its retirement village. www.ben.org.uk.

For those who haven’t already heard of Bangers4Ben (…where have you
been?!), it’s a road trip with friends to a location in Europe
which raises funds for Ben. This is an important event for Ben as funds
raised help us provide support for life to those working in the
automotive industry and their families.

The rules for the road trip are simple - purchase a car for under £750, decorate it to stand out and hope that it covers the 2,00 miles over the 4 4 days! The vehicle will then be sold at auction with the proceeds going to Ben.

Our vehicle of choice for 2019 is a reliable '55 Saab 9-3 Sport, with just 168,000 miles on the clock - we're confident that it'll handle the trip but rest assured, the AA will be on hand should we need them.

We'll update our progress throughout the journey, from sourcing a car, through to decorating and the drive across France.
