Story
Thank you for taking the time visiting my fundraising page
During the month of June I am planning to swim around the island of Bermuda in order to raise money for Open Arms Malawi. The total distance of the swim is 65 kilometres or 40 miles with each stage being 11-12 km. I plan to complete the swim in 6 stages over 3 weekends.
The swim is dedicated to my friend Nicholas Marriott who died of pancreatic cancer in January 2014. It is for this reason I have chosen to raise funds for the the charity Open Arms Malawi. Nick and Jude were long time supporters of this charity, as they lived in Malawi from 2000 and 2004 and were friends of Neville and Rosemarie who managed the charity at that time.
Every child has the right to life, survival and development. By supporting Open Arms you are providing medical attention, shelter, food and love to some of Malawi’s orphaned and abandoned children. Your donations allow us to give the children in our care the chance to grow up with the love of a family and the security of a home until they are fit enough to return to their communities.Thank you!
I am hoping to raise 6500 dollars in total, 100 dollars per kilometre swum.
Thanks again for visiting my page.
