Running the London Marathon to support Sailors' Society

London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
Sailors' Society helps seafarers by providing grants and support to families in need and running projects in seafaring communities around the world.
At MarineTraffic we have been supporting Sailors' Society and their cause for the past few years.
Now it is time for me to do my part on a personal level, through this fundraising campaign. You can help by (a) contributing to this campaign (all donations reach the Sailors' Society) and by (b) spreading the word to generate awareness for Sailors' Society and their cause.
I see the Marathon race a lot like a long voyage at sea. You leave port at the starting line with the excitement of the adventure ahead. You spend the rest of the trip doing a very tough job, sometimes stretching yourself to the limits, mostly on your own, buried in your thoughts. Then -hopefully- you reach your destination, proud of what you've done, eager to join your loved ones that wait for you.
I've run the Athens Marathon twice. Suffered a lot, but the overall experience was amazing. This will be my first Marathon race abroad and my first sub 4 hour race too!
I know it might be out of my control on the race day, but my commitment is that I'll do my absolute best. I will train hard for three months leading to the race - and I will make it happen!
Please join me in supporting Sailor's Society and their cause. Start with the yellow button :)
